Quality of Life for Solheim Lutheran Home
The Solheim quality of life is to embrace community in the deepest Christian sense of the word. This means that we believe in loving care for all seniors of all religions or none. We believe in
supporting one another in our joy and our pain.
We are one of the few not for profit senior communities that offers four levels of living – from the independent senior adult to the adult who needs full time nursing care. We provide excellent Assisted Living in the same apartment where one may have initially lived independently. We are well known in the medical community and with our peer senior communities for being among the first to develop professional expertise in Memory Care.
We are privileged to be situated on 2 ½ acres in the peaceful town of Eagle Rock which is part of greater urban Los Angeles. Having our campus situated in Los Angeles just minutes from Occidental College, affords us many opportunities for outside trips to concerts, shopping, and nature outings. We have beautiful well kept gardens, a full time Chaplain who takes residents to the Dodger games, a Wellness Center Director who loves her work and prides herself on keeping us all moving, 8 activity directors, a Director of Marketing who teaches weekly Yoga and meditation, a Director of Facilities who plays Santa Claus and hosts a Solheim New Year’s eve party, and our Executive Director who often plays piano for our bi-weekly vespers services.
We like birds, cats, and dogs, and most of all we like being part of a community that is dedicated to helping people live with vitality, whether they are very active or in a more contemplative period of their lives.
